I live and work on the Isle of Wight where the sea surrounds me. This physical and geographical fact is the reason I’m so interested in ‘fluidity’.
I’m taking the word fluidity loosely to mean connection, mutability, ways of thinking and the possibility of things unknown. The paintings explore my ideas and questions about reality; through colour, space and contrast. I’ve practised yoga and meditation for many years, and this also informs my art.
About my art environment
As an artist, I observe, sketch and gather inspiration from my island environment working on paintings outside, as a direct response to being in the natural environment, also back in the studio.
My artwork is in collections in the UK and overseas. I also work to commission.
